Home Gym Project Idea
I’ve been thinking of building my own gym at home for quite some time. It’s not the classic weights room, though. I’m thinking of building stuff to exercise functional strength and release anger.
Here’s what I’ve come up with:
1. Heavy Chains - To replace Dumbells
2. Heavy Punching Bag - The main point of this gym is anger release, and there’s no better substitute for this.
3. Truck Tire + Sledgehammer - Looks fun
4. Something I could swap for bungee cords - I’d be bolting them to a wall.
5. A Tackling Dummy - or materials + schematics to build one
Machines and Deadlines
Working with a multitude of high-tech machinery is normal in my line of work, and there are times when your machine doesn’t keep up with you.
Problem with machines is that you can’t threaten them with a kick to the face to keep them in line as with people.
Just got PB21
I’ve always been a big fan of Pugad Baboy. Got the latest installment, PB21 last Friday.
Pol Medina’s take on “taking a knife to a gun fight:”
Simula nang maimbento ng mga intsik ang pulbura noong 7th century, pambalat nalang ng patatas yan.
(Ever since the Chinese discovered gunpowder in the 7th century, all knives are just good for peeling potatoes.)
Fudging Storm
Good call on my part for not wearing khakis. My pants now have the ability to keep my legs cool, even with Air Conditioning.
And what’s with the wind here in Global City? The wind is so damn strong, it messes up my hair. And that, doesn’t happen.
Lazy Holiday
Can’t believe I spend so much time thinking about what to do at a time like this. I don’t get much time that I’m not working or with Maan. Most of the time, I just end up watching HIMYM reruns from my video archive. I have to admit, though, that HIMYM is a great show, but I’m getting tired of it.
In this case, nothing really goes as planned.
For the rest of the day, however, I think I’ll be watching something new. Got all current episodes of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood from a friend at the office.
And adding to the list of things I have/want to do but can’t/won’t get around to:
- Planning my December vacation in California - My Dad told me to ask for fare quotes from Korean Airlines
- Fixing up my uploaded CV on Dice.com - When my Mom said my CV was ghastly, she wasn’t kidding (another story)
Hello, Tumblr
In my last attempt at a consistent blog, my few readers needed CliffsNotes for them. I’ll try to avoid that mistake this time, conveniently because I now lack the time to write up epic posts.
That was 3 years ago.
Just what changed? All of a sudden I have a job, and a girlfriend, and a house (almost) all to myself which translates to some measure of money, emotional fulfillment and independence.
So did I get a life? Good God, did I?
I’m still in the process of thinking whether the perks outweigh their respective demands on my time. There are still a lot of things I have/want to do, but can’t get around to: Boxing, Learning Japanese, Feeding an idea for a book (another story), and even playing WoW.
